Nothing much going on here... And that's EXACTLY what I want right now.
One week down... three to go... Living Slow and learning about Slow and trying to be mindful of everything. I'm on hiatus from a lot of things at the moment, and trying to just BE. And I've loved it so far. LOVED the pieces of my day I've been actually beginning to notice again.
Today, I ran a bit (it was icky and hard, but I'm proud of myself...).... Took a blissfully cold shower. Worked steadily on work stuff for a few hours. Stretched. Snuggled Noah. Babysat a little amigo. Read some. Played "Angry Birds" til I got above 1 star on every level (I only had three "1-star" levels left, so I promise I didn't do this ALL day!). Caught up on emails. Dug a big little tree out of the flower bed. Mulched the other flower bed Joe cleared. Played in the water with Noah to cool down. Snuggled Noah on the couch after dinner. Read some Wizard of Oz with Noah (we are finally at the part where we meet the wizard. Noah just wants to go back to the poppy section). Watched Netflix and Hulu while I edited photos.... Ate no meat at all today. But lots of cheese.
Nothing much... but it's been everything I need.
'Night!
{photos: kinda cheating... these are from April, from another lovely day. But they fit the mood of THIS day, and I want to catch up on older photos... so these work perfectly for both reasons. So neener neener.}
haha neener neener. its always good to do "other" things to get away from the mundane. I got all crafty with my badself today with a friend of mine. My inner crafty child who used to like smothering elmers glue on her hands and wait till it dried so she can peel it off came out today and it felt good!! "Other things" are good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteSounds like your doing exactly what you should be and it's great to just be and live!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh, is there a children's version of Wizard of Oz? I've had a hankering to introduce it to my girls but am pretty sure the movie itself would give them nightmares.
ReplyDeleteHere is me reciprocating:
ReplyDeleteThat day sounded perfect! It sounded like the summer I dream about in my future. This morning, I was sitting watching "The Little Rascals" on TV and remembering the days when I was a kid and would bask in the summer sun and have these wonderful times when school wasn't in session. And I miss those days! I miss being a kid...anyways, even though you weren't necessarily being a kid with Noah (though sometimes you were) you had such a perfectly normal day and I'm so jealous. Trade me lives for a bit?
Sounds like a wonderful day. I'm so happy for you taking the time that you need for you. And those you love most dearly. Love you, darling.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the photos were not from "this day" you can totally tell that Noah was enjoying himself. Look at his expression in the second photo with the bucket. I can just hear him saying, "Oh yeah, my mom is so cool!" I just get the feel that he is very proud to be playing in the water.
ReplyDeleteI love how the sunburst is part of the picture and actually looks like the water spraying! :)
I'm so proud of you for doing this "boot camp". I hope you get everything and more than you can imagine from this!
Love you!
Sounds lovely! I'm so excited to take the bar and be done with it so I can have some relaxing days! It just hasn't felt like summer with all the studying!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! My son loves to do the same thing and play with the hose.
ReplyDeleteI feel more relaxed just reading your posts. They make me smile!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, do you have any really amazing cupcake recipes? I know you are a really great baker and I have an upcoming party and knew you'd be the one to ask!
