My People, My Yellow Dining Room Wall

Monday, May 18, 2015

Failing to post a Five For Friday two days ago, here is my submission on a Sunday night instead. Since Joe decided today would be the day he shaved off his spring beard, anticipating the coming of summer's humidity, he let me take beard photos of him, more of which I'll share in a day or two. Noah happened to have some SPECTACULAR bedhead today, and let me take his photo, too.

I've discovered, over the almost two years we've lived at this house now, that my yellow dining room has some really nice light, and really nice depth to the light. So for my Five Photos this time, I just want to share five photos of my favorite folks, my PEOPLE, my tribe, all in this dining room, from two different days.

First, Lucy and Quinn, playing nice for a rare moment, back in March.

Next, Noah's phenomenal bedhead.... His longish hair + sleeping on it wet = THIS:

And lastly, a peek photo of Joe's beard portraits, right before he shaved it off.

Hooray for my people.

Hooray for good light.

Hooray for photos and Sunday and spring and sunshine and happy things.

Hooray for Monday tomorrow--- my "reset day", the day I start fresh and feel like maybe I can do awesome things with the week ahead. See you next time, with the rest of Joe's photos!

My Kids, With Me- 2015

Sunday, May 10, 2015

“Even though the days may feel endless, the years will fly by. Don’t race through them. Enjoy the ordinary moments.”

Since my backdrop was set up already for my Mom+Me MicroSession offering, I begged Joe to grab a few quick ones of me with my own kids... so in spite of kid conflicts happening two feet behind me and Quinn wanting to be anywhere but on my lap and Lucy doing this weird "squish head down to smile" thing, we got a few. Thanks, Joe. Really, thanks for everything, not just these photos.

And thanks, kids. For all of it. Good, bad, messy and messier.

Five For Friday: Newborn Charlotte

Friday, May 1, 2015

April was BABY MONTH over here! Since having my own third baby, back in 2013, I've slowed down my photography sessions per month, simply to preserve my sanity. But this year I've been letting the session counts go back up to the pre-Quinn quotas, and I have to say I am SO GLAD I did! If I'd been limiting myself still, I'd have missed out on some really amazing babies this last month.

Just check out baby Charlotte. She's the baby sister of a beautiful little girl I photographed back at the end of 2012. She was a delight to work with, and her gorgeous head of dark hair just won me completely over.

For my Five For Friday today, five of my very favorites from her session:
